THINGS TO KNOW

Explore, experience and have fun, this is really what we believe you should do, if you are in Lisbon or anywhere else in the world. Stop following the must-dos and must-see that your guidebook or app tells you. Make your own experience of the city, get lost. Be open when you travel, and most of all, be ready for new experiences and to meet new people. Travel for real or stay home!!

  • FAQs

We put together a list of frequently asked questions made by our friends over the years. Obviously there are always new ones and unique questions from you. Please if the list doesn't help you either send us a message, we are here to help you to have the best and most real Lisbon (and Portuguese) experience We can't wait to share our stories with you ;)

  • WE ARE HERE IF YOU NEED

Yes, like we said before, fortunately or unfortunately, we live in Lisbon. So who better than us, knows about this city? Even if you are not crazy enough to book a trip with us, feel free to ask us whatever you need, grab one of our maps and meet us for a drink or something.

  • OUR FOOD

What can we say? We really love our food. And the truth is that our food has always been naturally present since day one in every single trip or experience we have been making in WHTT. Because we really believe that the best way to know a culture is by the stomach and the way people eat. So we have been eating with you everyday in our tours sharing the best we have in Lisbon and Portugal in terms of gastronomy.

  • LISBON NOW

Lisboa (as we call it) is a beautiful city in this little country on the Atlantic western coast of Europe. The city has been changing in the last 2000 years or more until today, but it's funny to witness like we've been doing, with all the changes that occurred in the last 10 years. Lisbon just went from a forgotten and poor city in crisis, to one of the most vibrant cities to live and to visit in whole Europe.

  • WHY WE HATE TOURISM TOURS

It all started in 2008 when Bruno just answered an American friend: "I'm not a tourist guide man, I hate tourism tours!", in response to a question about starting a business in the tourism industry. Bruno continued: "I'm doing this because I'm unemployed, I have time, I love my city and to share this love and knowledge with everyone."

  • WHO WE ARE

Started 14 years ago a group of unemployed friends got together, in a country on a crisis, some with a career as journalists, psychologists, photographers and others just rebel rousers. We did not study Lisbon in a classroom – we live it, and we are the living and breathing proof that with enough creativity, love and friends, everything is possible.

  • WHAT WE DO

Basically we like to say that we don´t do anything special. There is no big concept or philosophy behind We Hate Tourism Tours. What we like is to share with our friends visiting the city of Lisbon and our country, the love (sometimes hate) and the experience of living here.
